TBR (to-be-read) Pile

Dear Diary

Dearest Readers.

If you are like me, you are polygamous readers and have TBR pile next to your bed, in your study, in your e-reader. This pile is growing. It is growing non-stop. It never stops.

14522765_10153983350913379_5619110231814063555_n You pick up ideas for TBR from social media, bookstores, friends’ suggestions. If you start reading an author and he/she has a series of connected novels, you absolutely HAVE TO start from the beginning of the series and take it to the end.

Yeah, I know what you are feeling. Your bookcase has no space left. Your rooms are overflowing with books. Your wallet feels it too and shrinks in horror every time you enter a book store.

However, I tend to give in to this passion and weakness of mine. It is mine and it is mine to enjoy. I will share my TBR ideas with you, if you do not mind. May be we can help fuel each other passion…

Today’s pick comes from e-mail newsletter from Readings (one of my favourite book stores chain)

9780751537284 The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova

Late one night, exploring her father’s library, a young woman finds an ancient book and a cache of yellowing letters addressed ominously to ‘My dear and unfortunate successor’. Her discovery plunges her into a world she never dreamed of – a labyrinth where the secrets of her father’s past and her mother’s mysterious fate connect to an evil hidden in the depths of history.

This book got a 3 and 1/2 stars from Goodreads and has mixed reviews.

The Historian is the first novel for Elizabeth Kostova. By now, her second one The Shadow Land came out and is waiting to be put on my TBR pile. However, I have to start from the beginning
