I am asking questions again. This time I am asking a very pandoresque one of my male friends…
You know, there are millions and millions of questions in our lives. Some of them are easy and require ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answer. Some of the questions are more complex and may call for essays, PhDs and lifetime research. But there are some that I personally call ‘Pandora Box’ question. These are such question that you either ask them and live with the answer or do not ask them at all. Also, these are the question that would never have a black-and-white response. They are too… well, pandoresque.
So, here I am reading a new book for NetGalley’s review. It is Wish You Were Here by Sheridan Jobbins. I am liking it so far. I like the language. I like the main character and her voice. But I have only just started the book. However, this phrase kicked me in the face (too close to my skin, I guess)
‘I just can’t stand the thought of sleeping with only one woman for the rest of my life.’
Here we go. Is it really the life truth? Does this sentence mean anything or it is just an excuse for …head? So, I decided to do what researchers do and test out this hypothesis by via empirical methods – for Humanities sudent it means, through social research.
I hope my wonderful and darling male friends are not going to hate me afterwards…
I put this question towards them and am waiting for their response (Does this concept have a validity? Does it mean anything? If so, why? If not, why?)
Wouldn’t it be fun to see the results?
