Dear Diary,
Today is DAY 10 of my writing challenge. And what do I do? I spend the whole day doing all sorts of housework.
Please, do not get me wrong. I love my house and love doing things in it. As a matter of fact, I am turning into recluse: I’d rather spend time at home doing stuff than to go out… Well, that’s the story for another post.
This post is about today, about housework and about my biggest PET PEEVE ever – DISHWASHING.
I hate it. I despise it. I cannot stand it. I never liked it.
When I was a kid, I had to was the dishes in a bucket as we did not have running water. Then, we did get water. But we still had no running hot water. What a memory to keep.
I hated dishashing. I still do. Eventually, I progressed to having a dishwasher. But as we all know, dishwasher does not protect you from washing dishes completely. There are still bits that you need to hand wash. Plus, you do need to load and unload dishwasher. And you do need to clean the sink and the bench. Well, I am getting tired even writing this.
Anyhow, I got myself a daughter. I love her and care for her and am hoping for the same. She is sixteen now. I believe it is about time she started to help me. It is only fair. Thus, I deligated dishwashing all to her….
Does she do it? No. She conveniently forgets. She royally lets me or mum do the honours.
Today I hit the roof. Today I promised to thow anything I find in the sink when I come home from work at her… I have had enough of ‘nice mum’. I am on to being ‘horror mum’
I am a good person. I simply hate dishwashing.
Here is to my ramble…
